Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is an Mexican American broadcaster. She is currently employed by ESPN as a anchor for SportsCenter and sometimes hosts SportsNation. She was hired by ESPN in 2016. Her mother is the television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is bilingual since her age of nine. Her skill was instrumental in helping her land her first job as a producer assistant at Univision Miami, where she assisted the production of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. She was hired as an reporter at CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. After 2009, the reporter moved to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she was employed by KNVO TV 48 Univision as and Fox2 News. Reporting on stories about immigration and drug-trafficking on both sides of the Texas-Mexico border, she worked as an anchor for the 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of the 9 p.m. newscast in English, and a reporter again for 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. She was also often asked to be a sports and weather anchor. Then she anchor and wrote for Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She was a reporter for events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys and NBA Postseason, as well as the Finals FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. They eventually settled in Mexico City and she was born there on November 22 in 1985. She has an elder sister. In 1992, the family settled in Miami following the move from Mexico into the US. Within a brief time her father split from her mother. She later remarried in the year 1995 to a naval architect whose name was Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away of kidney carcinoma in the year 2006. While on a vacation Antonietta spent the time at her sister's house in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sibling had recently gotten the job of his dreams. Antonietta was about to graduate from high school, but was already aware of what she was going to accomplish. The campus was stunning as well as offered the level of education she was looking for. After high school, she graduated and enrolled into media school at the university. Mark Bergmann was her professor and the manager of WRMU in which she is a member. They formed a strong friendship. Her professor Mark Bergmann inspired her with his enthusiasm for journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
